The students left on June 24 from Cleveland Airport to Toronto. Then the travelers boarded a plane to Amsterdam.
In 14 days , the students visited Amsterdam, Heidelberg, Germany and Munich. A short hop to Innsbrook , Austria while enjoying the food and sights in these towns. The group also had five BHS teachers chaperone. No parents!!
The sixth day the students were in Venice , Italy. Day seven in Verona, Italy. The students really enjoyed the food in Italy.
Day 8 the Magic City tourists rode the cable cars in Switzerland. Many students were amazed by the views in their hotel of the Swiss Alps. Several students considered this the most impressive sight they saw.
Day 9 took them to Dijon , France. No mustard tasting in Dijon!!!
Day 10 was off to Paris. The travelers saw the Eiffel Tower and all the Olympic preparations.
Day 11 they toured Versailles and enjoyed more of Paris.
Day 12 and 13 London. Many students commented that the food in London was the least favorite of the travelers!!
Day 14 a flight from London to Toronto and an hour flight to Cleveland.
A common theme from the students is the trip opened their eyes to how much more is available in this world. Many wished to go back and even study in college in a college studies abroad program.
Another interesting aspect of the BHS travel abroad program is the program is offered every other year. Planning begins with a meeting this fall and the families can make payments over two years. All meals are provided except lunch and the price includes all travel and lodging for the two weeks. The price is around $5,300.
